Bible Scripture Reading for Saturday 22 October 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 22 October 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "The New Is Better"
Today's Scripture Reading: Hebrews 8:1-13
Today's Key Verse: "Hebrews 8:10 "For this the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Aaronic priest ministered on earth, in a sanctuary which was a copy and shadow of heavenly realities.  Our High Priest, Jesus, ministers in heaven itself (verses 1-6).  The superiority of Christ's ministry is further reflected in the superiority of the covenant which governs it.

The old Mosaic Covenant was flawed.  The Old Testament itself predicts its replacement by a New Covenant (verses 7-9).  Under the New Covenant there are four provisions of the New Covenant: (1) God's Law will be written on believers minds and hearts (2) Believers will have a relationship with God (3) All will know God (4) God will forgive the sins of believers and remember them no more.

The word remember in verse 12 means more than recall.  It means to "act in accordance with" what is remembered.  Not  to remember sins means God, when we accept the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives will not punish them because they have been washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Today's Hymn: Amazing Grace (verses 5 and 6)

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess, within the veil, a life of joy and peace
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine;
But God. Who called me her below, Will be forever mine.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we thank you Jesus for being our High Priest.  Holy Spirit as we read and study from the Word of God help us to understand what we read by applying it to our hearts and minds.  May we hide Thy Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Thee."
                                                                                                                       Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Christ is able to save because He is fully God and fully human."

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T", God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

"Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits." Psalm 103:1,2

Your Sister in Christ,
