Bible Scripture Reading

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 9 April 2012"

Today's Blog Title: "A Prayer In Deep Distress"
Today's Scripture Reading: Isaiah 33:1-24
Today's Key Verse: Isaiah 33:2 "O Lord, be gracious to us, We have waited for You.  Be their arm every morning.  Our salvation also in the time of trouble."

Isaiah's Final "Woe" on Israel and Judah looks beyond the coming Assyrian invasion to the ultimate devastation that will come on the land in the final days.   "You that spoilest" and was "not spoiled is a reference to the Antichrist and his kingdom.  "the time of trouble" refers to the Tribulation period.  The invading army is likely to a horde of "locusts" that shall cover the land of Israel.  "He hath broken the covenant...he regardeth no man" is certainly reminiscent of Daniel 9:27, which refers to the Antichrist.  Thus both prophets foresee a time when the one who has promised to defend Israel will turn against her during the Tribulation period.

God's punishment is pictured as a "devouring fire," which is so awesome that only the righteous will be spared (Matthew 24:22).  The 'king in his beauty" is Christ Himself, and the description of the magnitude of His kingdom is reminiscent of the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21:16.17.  Here the prophet foresees the millennial kingdom where Christ will rule the world in peace.  All that Israel needs will be fulfilled in the Lord her God, who will be the "judge, lawgiver, and king."  Thus in this threefold capacity, "He will save us."

Today's Biblical Truth: "On high refers to God's dwelling place, the place the righteous will go to live with God forever.

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness. Love God More Today.  Pray for out Brothers and Sister in Christ who are being persecuted for their Faith and Trust in Jesus. Continue to pray for Youcef Nadarkhani the Iranian pastor who has been sentenced to death for his refusal to to denounce his Faith and Trust in Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior.  Pray for God's peace on the city of Jerusalem and for His Blessings on the Nation of Israel.  Always remember that when you have spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T," GOD Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN."

"The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion." Proverbs 28:1

Jesus Reigns!!! May God's Love, Peace, Strength, and Grace be with all of you.

Your Sister in Christ,
Cindi
