Today's Blog Reading: Isaiah 59:1-21
Today's Blog Key Verse: Isaiah 59:1 "Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear."
Isaiah 59, continues the judgments started in chapter 58 regarding Israel's hypocrisy. God's hand is not yet beyond the reach of salvation. But their "sins" separted them from His Presence, and they are described in great detail throughout this chapter.
Scripture tells us what sin is. Isaiah emphasizes the fact that sin separates us from God. While God is ready to forgive, even the believer who habitually practices sin is cut off from fellowship with the Lord (1 John 1:5-10).
The New Testament emphasizes the devasating effect sin of human nature. Sin curses us with spiritual death, a condition that will carry over into eternity unless the sinner receives new life through faith in Christ (Romans 5:12-21).
Sin corrupts human nature; it turns our thoughts to evil acts, arouses wrong desires, and so weakens our wills that we choose the wrong even when we know what is good (Ephesians 2:1-3). This really underlines the grim picture of life in a society of sinners as portrayed in Isaiah 59:3-15. Sin brings man under the divine wrath (Isaiah 59:18). How terrible sin is. BUT how WONDERFUL, that we have a REDEEMER.
Today's Biblical Truth: "The only way to find healing is to be honest with yourself and God about your spiritual state."
Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.
Love God More Today. Pray for our Brothers and Sisters in Christ who are being persecuted for their Faith and Trust in Jesus. Pray for Youcef Nardarkhani the Iraian Pastor who has been sentenced to death for his refusal to denounce Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior, and also for his lawyer who has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for defending him in the Iranian Court. Always remember, that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life, and you yell out, "I CAN'T," GOD Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN."
