"Greetings in the Name of the Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today's Blog Title: "The Way of the Righteous"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 1:1-6
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 1:3 "He shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper."
To begin, I would like to say how excited I am to be doing the Book of Psalm. This Book shows us that our Almighty God, is aware and sensitive to our every emotion, our struggles and He is all powerful to reach down to help us through it all. We as Christians and Believers are, to give God our trust, our devotion, our obedience, our confidence, and our praise. By doing so we will live out our days enriched by His presence.
This Chapter is a wisdom Psalm and presents a sharp contrast between the way of the righteous, and the way of the wicked. There is no author named for this Psalm nor or we given the circumstances for the writing of this Psalm.
The focus on the Psalm is on the form of character and the difference between the righteous and the wicked. It will also set the theme for the entire Book of Psalms.
This Psalm is like a beacon of light coming through the darkness of a stormy night. It lights up and points out the truth, even when the untruths of our society begin to cloud our thoughts. It affirms that there is only way to true life, and to deny this is to foolishly accept the death sentence of God because of our sins.
We as Christians are to reject the lifestyle of the wicked, and to find delight in the word of God. Godly choices lead to stability and prosperity but wickedness leads to destruction. God who is, and always will be, is in control, and supervises the outcome of the moral choices that we make.
Today's Hymn: "Room at the Cross for You"
The cross upon which Jesus died,
Is a shelter in which we can hide;
And its grace so free is sufficient for me
And deep is its fountain as wide as the sea.
There's room at the cross for you
There's room at the cross for you
Though millions have come, there's still room for one
Yes, there's room at the cross for you
Heavenly Father, We as Christians live in this world, but because of what Jesus, Your Son did for us on the Cross of Calvary, we are not part of this world. May we continue, while we are here in our temporary home, find our deep enjoyment in serving you, studying Your Word, and Praising Your Name in everything that we do.
Amen
Truth for the Day: "God is always involved with the way of the righteous, but has no connection with the ways of the ungodly, except through Divine Judgment"
