Bible Verse and Hymn for Monday 3 January

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and
 Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Blog Title: "All Aboard"

Yesterday, we saw in Chapter 6 of Genesis, how that Noah, for 120 years faithfully build an ark in a waterless plain, all the while warning those around him, of the coming judgment.  Today, as we look into Chapter 7, we will see God's judgment.

Today's Scripture Reading: Genesis 7:1-24

Today's Key Verse: Genesis 7:1: "Then the Lord said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation."

Today's Personal Application: Is your faith like that of Noah?

In the opening verse of Chapter 7, we see that the Lord instructs Noah and his family to, "Come into the Ark".  In verse 2, we see a new detail, that now God instructs Noah, to take seven of every clean animal (6:19).  The additional clean animals, would be used for food, and for sacrifice once the waters were gone (see 8:20-21).

In verse 4, Noah was told by God that in seven days, He would   cause it to rain for 40 days and 40 nights.  In verse 5, we once again see that Noah obeyed the Lord completely.  In verse 7,  God tells Noah, that it is now time for his family, and the animals to enter the ark.  The events would indicate, an immense labor, yet the gathering of the animals was largely the work of the Lord, and their management the work of Noah and his sons.   The animals where drawn to the ark, and to Noah, by the hand of the Lord.  When I read this, I wonder what the neighbors of Noah were thinking when they saw all these animals coming to the ark.  Wow!!!!  This drawing of the animals to the safety of the ark, reminds me of of our being drawn to the salvation, and safety of Jesus, when He knocks on our hearts door and we accept Him into our lives.

The Lord, in verse 16, shuts the door of the ark.  That shutting of the door, was a symbol of closure, safety, and God's gracious deliverance.  God still does that for us today, because of the death, and shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ.

We now see that the windows of heaven were opened and the rain greatly increased and the ark was lifted up. The water was so great that the highest mountains were covered with water and all living animals and all flesh that were outside the ark were destroyed.

In the closing verse of Chapter 7 we  see that, "the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.

Today's Chapter Question: If you were alive at this time and you were invited to get on this boat, would you have accepted?

Have you ever wondered, how this collection of the animal kingdom happened? The animals, as well as Noah, were doing just as God had commanded.  God took care of the gathering of the animals, while Noah was doing his part, by building the ark.

Do we as Christians, focus on what God wants our lives to be?  We often worry about details in our life's, in which we have no control, while forgetting the areas of our life's, that are under our control.  We need to concentrate, and focus, on what God has given us to do, and leave the rest to Him.

Lord how awesome is Your presence, Who can stand in Your light?
Those who by Your grace and mercy, Are made holy in Your sight.
I will seek Your face, O Lord; I will seek Your face O Lord;
I will seek Your face, O Lord; I will seek Your face O Lord.

Have a God Filled and a Spirit Led Day and May God's Richest Blessings Be With You All.

Yours In Christ,
Cindi
