"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Weekend Bible Verse for Saturday 29 January: Ephesians 2:8-10: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
We as Christians, have been saved by grace. The grace of God is the source of salvation, and faith is the channel not the cause. God alone saves. Our salvation will never originate in our efforts, it will always arise out of the righteousness of God. Our salvation is of the Lord. We cannot do anything to earn salvation. Everything that we as Christians receive is from our merciful and gracious Father.
Today's Question and Closing Comment: "When have you recently reminded yourself and God that you want your life to be used for His purposes?" We become Christians through God's grace, not as the result of any effort, ability, act or service on our part. However, out of gratitude for this free gift, we seek to help and serve others with kindness, love and gentleness, and not merely to please ourselves. While no action or work we can do can help us obtain salvation, God's intention is that our salvation will result in acts of service. We are saved not merely for our own benefit, but to serve Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and build up the church.
A shade by day, defense by night, a shelter in the time of storm
No fears alarm, no foes afright, a shelter in the time of storm
Oh, Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a weary land, a weary land
Oh, Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a shelter in time of storm
Heavenly Father, Thank you so much for your love for us, that You send Your Only Son to this earth, to shed His blood and die for us. May we always realize, that we are not saved by our works or good deeds, but we are saved through Your mercy and grace and the blood of the lamb.,
Amen
Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go In Peace, Serve the Lord and Love God More Today.
Yours in Christ,
Cindi
