Bible Scripture Reading for Sunday 31 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 31 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title:  "Praise of the Redeemed"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 107:1-43
Today's Key Verse:  Psalm 107:13 "Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distress."

Psalm 107 is a wisdom psalm and shares the form and many of the same themes as Psalm 105 and 106.  After an initial call to praise in verses 1-3, the psalmist lists the various types of distresses from which the Lord rescues His people.  These include: redemption from wandering in verses 4-9, from Prison verses 10-16, from deadly psychological misery verses 17-22 and from the story seas in verses 23-32.

The psalmist calls the redeemed to praise God.  In a series of vivid images he contrasts the lost state with the release that redemption brings.  Exercising His power over nature, God will remake our barren earth and revitalize our barren lives.

This psalm has eight parts: (1) a celebration of God's enduring love (verses 1-3); (2) affirmation that God meets the needs of those who wander in the wilderness (verses 4-9); (3) assurance that God deliverers those in exile or in prison (verses10-16); (5)  God's salvation for those caught in storms (verses 17-22); (6) God's provision for those in barren lands (verses 33-38); (7) an affirmation that God multiplies people who are diminished (verse 39-42); (8) a call to rediscover the royal love of God.

Today's Hymn: "Victory In Jesus" (verse 2)

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing
How He made the lame to walk again, and cause the blind to see;
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory
O victory in Jesus, my Savior forever
He sought me and bought, with His redeeming blood;
He loved me 'ere I knew him, and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we truly are that we as Christians have the eternal victory in Jesus and we obtain once we accepted Him into our lives.  Thank You Jesus not only for cleansing of our sins with your blood, but the fact that because of of your glorious resurrection you conquered death and sin and defeated Satan forevermore.
                                                                                                                          Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Saturday 30 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 30 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "A Confession of National Sin"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 106:1-48
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 106:1 "Praise the Lord!  Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!  For His mercy endures forever."

Psalm 106 is a wisdom psalm and it rehearses much of the same history covered in Psalm 105.  The two chapters are companions, even though their perspectives are different.  Psalm 106 emphasizes the rebellion of the the Israelites despite the unchanging goodness of God.  Psalm 105 is about remembering while Psalm 106 is about forgetting, specifically the Israelites forgetting God's mercies.

God's people failed to respond to Him even after His miraculous works for them.  After calling for Israel to praise the Lord (verses 1-5) by confessing the nation's historic faults and failures (verses 6-46), the confessional prayer ends with an appeal for deliverance (verses 47,48).

The first step toward our redemption is to honestly look at our sins and failures and bring them to God.  Self-examination is painful, but it is necessary for us all.

Today's Hymn: "Your Kindness"

Waiting for angry words to sear my soul, knowing that I don't deserve another chance;
Suddenly the kindest words I've ever heard, Come flooding through my heart
It's Your kindness that leads us to repentance O Lord;
Knowing that You love us no matter what we do, makes us want to love You
It's Your kindness that leads us to repentance O Lord;
Knowing that You love us no matter what we do, makes us want to love You

Heavenly father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians look at our lives to see where we are falling short of giving You our all.  Provide us Lord with Your everlasting love and strength so that as we live for you we will be the branches that bear much fruit for You.
                                                                                                                                            Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Believers are empowered not in proportion to their need, but according to God's strength"

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T", God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

Bible Scripture Reading for Friday 29 July 2011

"Greeting in the Name of  our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 29 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "A History of God's Faithfulness"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 105:1-45
Today's Key Verses: Psalm 105:1 "Oh, give thanks to the Lord!  Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!"

Psalm 105 is a psalm of praise and focuses on the positive experiences of Israel in their early history.  This psalm celebrates God's faithfulness of the people.  It also celebrates God's faithfulness to His covenant with Abraham in the lives of His people.

The people need to remember to be faithful to God, who had never forgotten to be faithful to them.  This psalm is one of two historical psalms, the other being Psalm 78.

This psalm has eight parts: (1) a call for praise to God (verses 1-6); (2) God's covenant with Abraham (verses 7-12); (3) the early experiences of God's people (verses 13-15); (4) the experience of Joseph (verses 16-22); (5) the experiences of Israel in Egypt (verses 23-25); (6) the great deliverance from Egypt (verses 26-36); (7) the great provisions (verses 37-41); (8) God's promises to Abraham (verses 42-45).

Today's Hymn: "Victory Chant"

Hail Jesus, You're my King; Your life frees me to sing.
I will praise you all my days; Perfect in all your ways.
Hail Jesus, You're my Lord; I will obey Your Word.
Want to see Your kingdom come; Not my will but Yours be done.
Glory, glory to the Lamb; You take me into the land.
We will conquer in Your name; and proclaim that Jesus reigns.
Hail, hail, Lion of Judah; How powerful You are;
How wonderful You are, How wonderful You are

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that from the beginning of time and through today and into the years to come we as Christians can depend on your never ending love and your faithfulness to us.  May we always keep a song of praise within our hearts as we serve the King of kings, and Lord of lords now and forevermore.
                                                                                                                                 Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Thursday 28 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 28 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Praise to God, the Creator"
Today's Scripture Reading: "Psalm 104:1-35
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 104:1 "Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty."

Psalm 104 is a truly joyful hymn of praise to the Creator, this hymn along with Job 38 and 39 and Psalms 8 and 29 forms a divine poetic commentary on the Creation.  The introduction to the psalm is a brief call to praise.  The body of psalm expounds on the majesty of God's creative work as few psalms do: He is infinite (verses 1-4); He created and established the earth's land and seas (verses 5-9); He cares for the animal kingdom by giving food and drink (verses 10-18); He established the heavenly bodies as regulatory agents (verses 19-23); He created the sea and all its contents (verses 24-26); and all living creatures are completely dependent on Him (verses 27-30); The conclusion in (verses 31-35) summarizes the message of the psalm and calls upon all men to praise the Lord of creation, an act of devotion the psalmist had already demanded of himself.

Today's Hymn: "I Need Thee Every Hour" (verse 3)

I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain
Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain
I need Thee, O I need thee, Every hour I need Thee
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we praise You Abba Father for the Creation of the heavens, the Creation of the earth, the waters of blessing, the fullness of the earth, the patterns of life.  How we acknowledge Father that all life is dependent upon You and how thankful we are for Your Mercy, Love, Love and Grace.

Bible Scripture Reading for Wednesday 27 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 27 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "In Celebration of Deliverance"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm Psalm 103:1-22
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 103:1,2 "Bless the Lord O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!  Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits."

This psalm written by David, is one of the greatest praise hymns in the Book of Psalm.  Verses 1-5 finds the psalmist expressing his intention to praise God all his benefits.  Then with five verbs be speaks specifically these benefits: (1) who forgiveth (2) who healeth (3) who redeemeth (4) who crowneth and (5) who satisfies.  All these actions speak of spiritual blessings, though physical benefits may be included.

Verses 6-19 speaks of God's character, and contains the attributes of God: (1) merciful (2) gracious (3) slow to anger (4) plenteous in mercy.  These are ample illustrated in an attempt to convey their vastness: the greatness of His mercy (as the heavens are high), the greatness of His removal of our sins (as far as the east is from the west), and the greatness of His compassion (as a father pitieth his children).

In the conclusion of this psalm in Verses 20-22 David returns to the call that he gave him at the start of this psalm but this time he widens it to include all created beings and works.

Today's Hymn: "Mourning Into Dancing"

Where there once was only hurt, He gave His healing hand
Where was once only pain, He brought comfort like a friend
And I feel the sweetness of His love piercing my darkness;
And I see the bright and morning sun as it ushers in His joyful gladness
He turned my mourning into dancing again, He's lifted my sorrows
I can't stay silent, I must sing for Your joy has come

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that you Abba Father are merciful, gracious, slow to anger and that You are so plenteous in Your Love and Your Mercy.  How thankful we are to Jesus for His blood that washes our sins away so that we can be reunited with you Father.   May our daily walk be one that is pleasing to You and that brings Honor and Glory to Your Name.

Bible Scripture Reading for Tuesday 26 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 26 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "A Sufferer's Meditation"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 102:1-28
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 102:1,2 "Hear my prayer O Lord, And let my cry come to you.  Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; Incline Your ear to me; In the day that I call, answer me speedily."

Though the author of this psalm is not known, he speaks for the afflicted of all ages who must rely totally on God for relief.  The answer to the psalmist grief is not, in this case, direct divine intervention to alter his situation; rather, the psalmist own reflection on the unchanging nature of God in His dealings with men soothes his troubled mind.

After his introductory petition, the psalmist voices his lament.  His relief comes when he begins verse 12 dramatically with the words "but thou, O Lord", then expounds on the immutability and compassion of the Lord.  Finally, the remaining section heightens the contract between frail man and unchanging God by bringing both themes together.  These statements about God's unchanging nature can just as easily be applied to the Lord Jesus Christ, the believer's refuge today.

Today's Hymn: "I'm Amazed"

Broken by all the times I've failed, and the days I've hung my head in shame
Time and time again I'm driven to my knees, And I find Your great compassion there for me
I'm amazed at all that You do for me; Who am I, that You'd bless me so
I stand in awe of all Your wondrous deeds; You've dealt with me so graciously.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful it is to know that our life is short and the universe itself is perishable You Abba Father are eternal and in the end we as you servants will live in Your presence for all eternity because of our special relationship we have with You because of Your Son Jesus Christ.

Bible Scripture Reading for Monday 25 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 25 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Commitment of a King"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 101:1-8
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 101:1 "I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O Lord, I will sing praises."

This psalm describes the perfect king.  It expresses David's own aims but, at the same time, is a picture of Christ, his descendant, who will in fact fulfill this ideal picture.  The ideal king sings to the Lord, keeps his personal life pure, and administers social justice.

David in this psalm expresses his commitment to his God of "love and justice".  David will lead a blameless life.  He will not permit his people to sin and will advance those whose walk, like his, is blameless.

In politics the popular wisdom says that it's not wise to reject support.  David says he will have no association with "men of perverse heart."  When such people try to cling to us we need to take a firm stand as David did.

David is committed to an active campaign of cleansing his administration.  He doesn't wait till a scandal occurs, but makes sure he has "cut off every evildoer from the city of the Lord".  We may not be able to directly apply David's policies in theocratic Israel to modern politics.  But the principle of seeking leaders of unimpeachable moral character is valid in every society, in every age.

This psalm has four parts: (1) a determination to praise the Lord (verse 1); (2) a determination to behave wisely (verse 2); (3) a determination to abstain from wickedness (verses 3-5); (4) a determination to discriminate between the righteous and the wicked (verses 6-8).

Today's Hymn: "Tears Are A Language of God"

Often you wonder why tears come into your eyes
And burdens seem to be much more than you can bear
But God is standing near, He sees your falling tears
And tears are a language God understands

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians declare our purposes and we ask you Abba Father for help in maintaining righteousness.   May we as Christians not only preserve the innocent and protect the needy, but also maintain the reputation of God against the attacks of His foes.
                                                                                                                               Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Sunday 24 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 24 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Serving with Gladness"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 100:1-5
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 100:4,5 "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and unto His courts with praise.  Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.  For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations."

This psalm, affectionately known as "old hundred," thrills with excitement of worship.  We are invited to share the exhilaration and joy of praise and to gather for worship with thanksgiving and praise.

This psalm contains a command to serve (verse 1-3) and a command to praise (verses 4,5).  Each section is then divided into three calls and three causes.  There are three calls to serve, make a joyful noise, (verse 1), serve the Lord (verse 2), and come before (verse 2); and three cause for serving, the Lord is God, he hath made us, we are His people (verse 3).

Likewise there are three calls to praise, enter His gates, be thankful, bless His name (verse 4) followed by three causes for praise, the Lord is good, his mercy is everlasting, his truth endureth (verse 5).

Today's Hymn: "Blessed Assurance"

Perfect submission, perfect delight, visions of rapture now burst on my sight
Angels descending bring from above, echoes of mercy, whispers of love
This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior, all the day long
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, How thankful we are Abba Father in your mercy and Your royal love.  May our lives reflect the great confession of our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  May we as Christians, Heavenly Father come before You with every lasting songs of joy and praise.

Bible Scripture Reading for Saturday 23 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 23 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "In Praise of God's Holiness and Forgiveness"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 99:1-9
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 99:9 "Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His holy hill; For the Lord our God is holy."

Psalm 99 is the last set of royal psalm that began with psalm 93.  This psalm praises God as the King of His people.  The psalmist calls all mankind to exalt God because He is holy and because He forgives those who call upon Him.

"Holy" is a technical religious term.  The major emphasis in the concept of holiness is to make a sharp distinction between that which is secular and what is sacred.

This psalm has three parts: (1) praise to the Lord in the greatness of His glory (verses 1-3); (2) praise to the King in the justice of His rule (verse 4,5); (3) praise to the Lord who answers the prayers of His people (verses 6-9).

Today's Hymn: "Fill My Cup Lord" (verse 1)

Like the woman at the well I was seeking, for things that could not satisfy
And then I heard my Savior speaking, "Draw from my well that never shall run dry."
Fill my cup, Lord; I lift it up Lord!  Come and quench this thirsting of my soul
Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more, Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that we serve a Holy and Gracious God and that those who call upon Him are saved by His  Marvelous Grace.  Thank you Abba Father for being the Great King and providing the stability to the universe.
                                                                                                                                           Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Friday 22 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 22 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "God's Marvels"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalms 98:1-9
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 98:4 "Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises."

Psalm 98 is another one of the set of royal psalms.  It is a exuberant psalm of praise.  This psalm also shares the same joy as did Psalm 96.  The psalmist proclaims a new song.  The marvels God has worked include salvation, and nature joins the chorus of the saved acclaiming God when he comes to judge the world.

In verse 9 it talks about God's righteousness in judgment.  Righteousness in the Old Testament is rooted in the idea of conformity to a norm.  That norm is the revealed will of God, which in turn has its basis in God's character.  To say, as Scripture often does, that God is righteous is to affirm both that He is the ultimate standard of what is moral, right and good and that He never acts out of character.

Scripture also makes it clear how God's righteousness is expressed.  Formally, righteousness is expressed in the laws, statutes, and other expressions of God's Will found in the Bible.  In verse 9 God's righteousness is expressed in His acts of judgment and in His gift of salvation which was the other major theme of this psalm.  Psalm 98 celebrates a righteousness of God which promises equity to all mankind: salvation to those who believe and judgment to those who persist in sin and unbelief.

This psalm has three parts: (1) a call to praise God as the Savior (verses 1-3); (2) a call to praise God as the King (verses 4-6); (3) a call to praise God as the coming Judge (verses 7-9).

Today's Hymn: "Praise Him Praise Him" (verse 2)

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed redeemer! For our sins he suffered, bled and died.
He is our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation, Hail Him! Hail Him! Jesus the Crucified.
Sound His praises! Jesus who bore our sorrows, Love unbounded, wonderful deep and strong
Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness
Praise Him! Praise Him, Ever in joyful song!

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are as Christians for your grace and cleansing us from our sins because of the shed blood of You Son Jesus Christ.  How joyful it is to know that someday You will come to Judge the wicked and that You will then put an end to cruelty, evil, and injustice.
                                                                                                                Amen

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 21 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Honoring the Reign of God"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 97:1-12
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 97:11,12 "Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.  Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name."

Psalm 97 is one of the series of royal psalms (93-99).  This psalm has a apocalyptic tone in its speaking of God's final judgment on the wicked before He establishes His great kingdom.

God reigns over creation.  The heavens display His awesome power.  Idolaters are put to shame, but God's people rejoice.  The response  of the godly to the reign of God is to hate evil, rejoice in the Lord and offer Him praise.

This psalm has 5 parts: (1) a call for the praise of God the King (verse 1); (2) a vision of the upcoming judgment of the wicked (verses 2-6); (3) a prophetic statement about the end of idolatry (verses 7-9); (4) a promise of great joy for the righteous (verses 10,11); (5) a call for the praise of God the King (verse 12).

Today's Hymn: "Lord I'm Coming Home" (verse 2)

I've wasted many precious years, now I'm coming home;
I now repent with bitter tears, Lord, I'm coming home
Coming home, coming home, nevermore to roam,
Open up Thine arms of love, Lord, I'm coming home.

Abba Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you Holy Spirit for your indwelling power in our lives.  Help us to rejoice and sing continued songs of joy to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Wrap us up Lord, in your arms of love, never more to roam.

Bible Scripture Reading for Wednesday 20 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 20 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Praise from Nature and the Nations"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 96: 1-13
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 96:4-6 "For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.  For all the gods of the people are idols, But the Lord made the heavens.  Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary."

Psalm 96 is a royal psalm and is part of the set that begins in Psalm 93.  This psalm emphasizes world mission, specifically the prophetic fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant.   The earth is invited to praise the Lord with a new song.  All peoples and Creation itself will sing to God the great Creator when he comes to judge the earth.

God as our Creator has the moral right and responsibility to evaluate human actions and to mete out appropriate reward and punishment.  The major passages in the New Testament which develop the doctrine of divine judgment include: John 3:19-21, 5:19-30, 8:15-16, 12:47-49; Romans 2:1-8; 1 Peter 4:5; Hebrews 10:30, 12:12, 13:4 and Revelation 20:12.

This psalm  has four parts: (1) a call to praise God (verses 1-3); (2) a celebration of God the Creator (verses 4-6); (3) a celebration of God the King (verses 7-10); (4) a celebration of God the coming One (verses 11-13).

Today's Hymn: "Hallelujah" (written by me, a week after my salvation)

Seek it first the kingdom of God and His Righteousness
And all these shall be added unto you
Hal-le-lu, Hal-le-lu-jah

Jesus was born in Bethlehem on a starry night
The angels proclaimed His royal birth
Hal-le-lu, Hal-le-lu-jah

Jesus Christ the Son of God, who died on Calvary's cross
He gave His life that we might be free
Hal-le-lu, Hal-le-lu-jah

On the third day my Jesus arose, conquering death and sin
He then ascended back to His throne,
Hal-le-lu, Hal-le-lu-jah

One day He's coming to take me home, that He has prepared for me
And there I will spend all eternity
Hal-le-lu, Hal-le-lu-jah

So dear friends please listen to me, Come to Jesus right now
He will save you from your sins
Hal-le-lu, Hal-le-lu-jah

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how wonderful it is to serve a Living and Faithful God.  How thankful we are that You Abba Father never change your mind and You keep all promises that You make.  How thankful we are that one day the message of God's salvation will be known to all people.  May we as Christians spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to a desperate and sinful world.

Bible Scripture Reading for Tuesday 19 July 2011

"Greeting in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 19 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "God, the Great King"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 95:1-11
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 95:1-3 "Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!  Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.  For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods."

Psalm 95 places allot of emphasis on the worship of God as the great King, but is also is a royal psalm because of how it acknowledges Him as the great King.  The change of voice in verse 7 may well indicate that this psalm was sung in two ways.

First the people offered a hymn that served as a call to worship and prayer.  Second the priest or prophet answers with a warning that the worshipers must not fall prey to hardness of heart as did their ancestors.

The psalmist calls us to acknowledge the Lord as the "great God" above all others and to worship Him.  We as Christians worship by hearing and responding obediently to His voice.  Non reponse to His voice is to lose our opportunity for rest.

This psalm has three parts: (1) the worship of God in a mood of celebration (verses 1-5); (2) the worship of God in a contemplative mood (verses 6,7); (3) the worship of God in obedience (verses 8-11).

Today's Hymn: "Trust and Obey"

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory he sheds on our way!
When we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how grateful we are of your constant love and mercy on us.  How thankful we are that we serve the One True and Living God, and how thankful we are that because of Your Son Jesus Christ we can come boldly before you in prayer and supplication.  May our faith and trust in You stand firm in the midst of our trials, and tribulations, and may we always give You the Praise and the Glory.

Today I am sharing with all of you a poem that I have written.  God has blessed me with this wonderful Gift and each day I continue to be more and more amazed by our Almighty, Loving, Caring and Gracious God.  This was written to a friend of mine for her daughter who was going through allot of issues.  As I started to write in an E-Card to her the Holy Spirit spoke to me with the poem listed below.   I hope that you like it and that it uplifts you in song and praise before our Almighty God.

                                                           "God Loves You"

God Loves You and He Will Never Leave You
He is there by your side with open arms
Wanting to hold you right next to Him
With His Strong and Loving Arms

He will never forsake nor abandon you
He is and will always be your best friend
If you but call Him, He will come
Like He promises in His Word

Open your hearts to Him and run
To His nail scared hands and His open arms
As He speaks to your heart and mind
Say, "Here I am Lord, I am Thine"

He is tenderly calling you to come to Him
Since He is your Abba Father, and He loves so very much
Seek Him, and you will find Him, Knock and the Door will be opened
Ask, and He will shower you with His Love

For Jesus is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
He will never ever change His mind nor His promises
For He has been and always will be
The Caring, Loving, Gracious Almighty God

Bible Scripture Reading for Sunday 17 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 17 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "A Prayer for Vengeance"
Today's Scripture Reading: "Psalm 94:1-23
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 94:12 "Blessed is the man whom You  instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your love."

The author of Psalm 94 is not listed, but the psalm is a prayer for God's judgment to fall.  It is in the spirit of the petition, "Thy Kingdom come," a cry that God's righteous rule be established over all men, especially the wicked.

The introduction briefly sets forth the authors desire, the lament describes how the wicked are acting, the appeal is offered directly to the wicked for their self-correction, and we have the confidence section which expresses the authors trust and certainty that the Lord will in fact judge.

Today's Hymn: "All Hail The Power of Jesus Name" (verse 3)

Crown Him, ye morning stars of light, who fixed this floating ball;
Now hail the strength of Israel's might, and crown Him Lord of all
Now hail the strength of Israel's might, and crown Him Lord of all

Heaven Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, How thankful we are that You Abba Father are a righteous God and someday all the wicked will stand before the Great White Throne and be judged by You.  How thankful we are that as Christians, that the second that we trusted in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we were washed with the Blood of the Lamb.  How exciting it is to know that when we come before you Abba Father, that You will say to us as Christians, "Welcome to the Kingdom that I have prepared for you", and there we will spend all eternity basking in Your mercy and Love.
                                                                                                                       Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Saturday 16 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 16 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "God Reigns"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 93:1-5
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 93:1 "The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength.  Surely the world is established, so that is cannot be moved."

Psalm 93 has no recorded author but it is a royal psalm that focuses on the reign of God over the earth, making use of a distinctly use of a distinctly Canaanite perspective.  The psalmist denies Baal and shouts exuberantly in praise of God.

God is the king of the universe.  What are humans compared to Him?  God is King of heaven.  What are the gods compared to Him?  God is the King of all.  To whom may he be compared? This focus is one of he most impressive ideas in the Bible.

God has been, is now, and always will be the complete control as ruler of the universe.  His holy statutes structure the moral universal.

Today's Hymn: "Praise Him, Praise Him" (verse1)

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed redeeemer! Sing, O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim
Hail Him! Hail Him! highest archangels in glory, Strength and honor give to His Holy Name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard will his children, In His arms he carries them all day long.
Praise Him! Praise Him tell of His exeellent greatness
Praise Him! Praise Him!  Ever in joyful song

Bible Scripture Reading for Friday 15 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 15 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Joy in God's Works"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 92:1-15
Today's Key Verses: Psalm 92:1,2 "It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to your name, O Most High, to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night."
Psalm 92:13-15 "Those that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God, they shall bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, to declare that the Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him."

Psalm 92 is a psalm of descriptive praise and celebrates the person and work of God in a mighty way.  This psalm also includes several wisdom themes.

In this psalm the psalmist (whom is unnamed) testifies to the benefits of trust in God.  God and His angels guard the believer, and the Lord Himself promises protection.

This psalm has four parts: (1) an encouragement for the people to respond to God in praise and worship (verses 1-4); (2) a celebration of the wisdom of God in bringing judgment on the wicked (verses 5-9); (3) an acknowledgement of the mercy of God who has established the believer's present life (verses 10,11); (4) an anticipation of the mercy of God that will continue in the life to come (verses 12-15).

Today's Hymn: "All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name" (verse 2)

Let highborn seraphs tune the lyre, and as they tune it, fall
Before His face who tunes their choir, and crown Him Lord of all
Before His face who tunes their choir, and crown Him Lord of all

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we thank you for Your Mercy and Grace that You pour upon the believer who has placed their complete faith and trust in You.  We thank you father for not only your continued blessings in this life, but also in the life to come.  Help us Lord, as we read Thy Word, to hide it in our hearts that we might not sin against Thee.
                                                                                                                                          Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Thursday 14 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 14 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Praise for Security"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 91:1-16
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 91:2 "I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my salvation; My God in Him will I trust."

The author of psalm 91 is unidentified and is a psalm of trust.  The psalm is similar to Psalm 90 a psalm written by Moses, and it could have authored by Him or another writer could have used the experiences and ideas of Moses and write this psalm.

The key word to describe this psalm is security.  There are two distinct voices in the psalm, and each speaks to the trusting believer in the Lord.  The first voice assures the faithful of God's protection.  The second voice is that of the Lord Himself who likewise pledges His watch care.

This psalm has four parts: (1) a confession of confidence in the Lord (verses 1,2); (2) assurance that those who trust in the Lord need not fear evil (verses 3-8); (3) promises of God's protection to the coming One (verses 9-13); (4) a description of the Lord's protection of the coming One (verses 14-16).

"Today's Hymn: "Jesus Paid It All" (verse 1)

I hear the Savior say, "Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all."
Jesus paid it all, all in Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it as white as snow

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are for your protection and guidance in our daily life's.  Thank you Lord Jesus for taking our sins that was leaving a crimson stain and washing them as white as snow.

Bible Scripture Reading for Tuesday 5 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 5 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "In Praise of Righteous Judgments"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 82:1-8
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 82:8 "Arise, O God, judge the earth; For You shall inherit all nations."

This psalm written by Asaph, is like Psalm 58 and is concerned with the problems of unjust judges.  The content of this psalm may be described  like this: God Himself arrives for the hearing (verse 1), the accusations are delivered (verses 2-5), God sets forth His verdict (verses 6,7), and Asaph presents a petition for God's judgment over all the earth (verse 8).

Judges are called "elohim" (gods) in verse 6 not because of their deity, but because of their responsibility to represent God.  In John 10:34, Jesus quoted this verse to support His deity.  God is the universal Judge and calls human judges to defend the rights of the helpless.  Unjust human judges, will be judged by God.

Today's Hymn: "God Is Good All The Time"

God is good all the time,
He put a song of praise in this heart of mine
God is good all the time,
Through the darkest night
His light will shine
God is good, God is good, all the time

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that you are a righteous judge and that Your judgments are true and fair.  How thankful we are as Christians that we will not have to stand before the Great White Throne Judgment and be told by You are Creator that you never knew us, but You will welcome us into the kingdom that you have made for us.  You Lord, are Good All the Time.

Bible Scripture Reading for Sunday 9 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 9 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "A Psalm of Ultimate Victory"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 87:1-7
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 87:7 "Both the singers and the players on instruments say, "all my springs are in you."

Psalm 87 is one of the collections from the sons of Korah.  It is a intensely evangelistic psalm that anticipates the New Testament mission to resent the gospel to the entire world.  This song of Zion speaks prophetically of the time when Zion really will be the center of the universal kingdom of the Messiah.

Zion is God's elect city, a place where even the Gentiles are gathered, and a source of new life in God's kingdom.  In closing this psalm affirms God's love for Jerusalem.  One day the nations will honor the Lord and Zion will be praised.

Today's Hymn: "Count Your Blessings"

Are you burdened with  a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly, and you will keep singing as the days go by
Count your blessings name them one by one, count your blessing see what God Hath done
Count your blessings name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that we have someone who is there for us at all times.  How thankful we are of your promises to those that have believed in you as there Lord and Savior.  How we look forward to the day when we as Christians will be part of the new heaven and the new earth.  Help us Lord to daily count the many blessings that you bestow upon us and may we in return give you all the praise and glory.
                                                                                                                            Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Wednesday 13 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 13 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "A Prayer of Moses"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 90:1-17
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 90:1,2 "Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God."

Psalm 90 is the only poem in the Book of Psalm written by Moses.  It is a psalm of lament in which the people complain of God's judgment and the brevity of life.  Even in the midst of sorrow, the people acknowledge the security they have in the Lord and pray for renewal.

The psalm also contracts the everlasting quality of God with man's frailty, which is a consequence of God's anger against sin.  Yet we see here God's mighty love can bring joy into the lives of believers and make life meaningful and worthwhile.

In verse 2, "Everlasting to everlasting", eternity is not so much in view as "all time", from its beginning to its end.  Thus we see that God is One who continually is.  We as human beings, in contrast to God, have only momentary existence on earth.

There are four main points to this psalm: (1) an affirmation of the security of a life lived close to the Lord (verses 1,2); (2) a complaint about the brevity of life (verses 3-6); (3) a complaint about God's judgment (verses 7-12), (4)  a prayer for restoration (verses 13-17).

Today's Hymn: "Grace Greater Than Our Sins"

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and guilt
Yonder on Calvary's mount out poured, there when the blood of the Lamb was spilled
Grace, grace, God's grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God's grace, grace that is greater than all our sins

Abba Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are as believers for your grace, that is indeed greater than all our sins.  May we live our lives totally for you and may we as John in the close of the Book of Revelation say, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
                                                                                                                        Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Tuesday 12 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 12 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Psalm of the Davidic Covenant"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 89:1-52
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 89:7 "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be reverence by all those around Him."

In this psalm special covenant promises were given to David.  These promises revealed the fact that God intends to keep His promises to Abraham through the agency of a ruler who will be one of David's physical descendants.  Until that birth of that King, commonly known or called the Messiah, or Anointed One, David would always have a descendant on the throne of Israel, or who was qualified to sit on that throne.

These promises are celebrated here in the following verses:

89:20-25: The King will be strengthen and sustained by God and His kingdom established.
89:26-27: God will maintain a Father-Son relationship with the King and appoint Him His heir ("first born").
89:28-29: God will establish the King's line forever and maintain His covenant forever.
89:30-37: If kings in David's line turn from God, they will be disciplined, but the covenant promises will never be withdrawn.

There are several key words and concepts repeated in this psalm:

Faithfulness (89:1,2,5,8,33,49) This is a concept related to the idea of truth.  A person if faithful if his or her words are true which means if his or her actions match their words.  God is faithful and what He says and promises He will do.  God is faithful and Hos covenant promises are rock solid and are fully guaranteed by the very character of god Himself.

Love (89:1,2,14,24,28,33,49) The word love here mean covenant loyalty or steadfast love.  Again here in these verses the covenant promises given to David are guaranteed by the character of god who gave them.

Covenant (89:3,28,34,39) Biblical covenants, are commitments by one person God, to do what He promises a person or a group to do.

God in His steadfast love for us will never abandon nor forsake us.  He may discipline us, but instead of rejecting us, He chooses to keep on loving us.  Whether the blessings we yearn for are to ours in the next 24 hours or in eternity, God's promises still ring true.  He loves us faithfully and He will make every commitment made to us in Christ.  Jesus will come again, and the covenant promises granted David, will be kept in full.

Today's Hymn: "Grace Greater Than Our Sin" (verse 1)

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace that exceeds our sin and guilt
Yonder on Calvary's mount out poured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilled
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, what a faithful and loving God we serve.  Thank you for the strength and guidance that You provide those that have put there faith and trust in You.  How thankful we indeed are Lord, that Your Marvelous grace IS greater than all our sins.
                                                                                                                                             Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for Monday 11 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 11 July 2011"

Before I begin, I would like to Praise the Lord for Saving me one year ago on today's date.  My life has been totally and amazingly transformed in that I am a daughter of the KING.  I stand in awe of what God has done in my life.  Each day is a new adventure with the Lord and I like the Prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 6:8 say, "Here I am Lord, sent me."  Please remember me in your prayers that God continues to use me in this Internet Ministry of getting the Good News of Jesus Christ out to the world.

Today's Blog Title: "Lament of the Suffering"
Today's Scripture Reading: "Psalm 88:1-18
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 88:1,2 "O Lord, God of my salvation, I have cried out day and night before You.  Let my prayer come before You; Incline Your ear to hear my cry."

Psalm 88 was written by the sons of Korah and is certainly one of the gloomiest psalm in the Book of Psalm.  This psalm show or displays no ray of hope.  Perhaps the psalmist had experienced a tragedy like that of Job for which he had no explanation.  The lack of hope in this psalm is not because he had not prayed; rather he has prayed earnestly and reminds the Lord that he has done so.

The psalm consist of petition, lament, and a motivation for God to act.  This psalm captures the grief of the suffering saint of every era.  The psalmist shares his anguish and records his prayer.  Despite his prayers, he has suffered and felt despair all his life.

The psalm has five parts: (1) an opening prayer for deliverance (verses 1,2); (2) Herman's impending death (verses 3-5); (3) a complaint about the Lord's attack on Herman (verses 6-8), (4) God's delay in coming to the aid of Herman (verses 9-12); (5) Herman's desperation as he senses no deliverance from the Lord (verses 13-18).

Today's Hymn: "Trust And Obey" (verse 1)

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, What a glory He shed on our way!
While we do his good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey

Heaven Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, we are so thankful, that because of our belief and trust in Your Son Jesus Christ, we will not endure Your wrath which we deserve, but we will enjoy Your Love, Care and Grace.  Thank you for the indwelling Holy Spirit who teaches us, guides us, and corrects us.  May we always remember that there is NO other way to be HAPPY in Jesus, but to TRUST and OBEY.
                                                                                                     Amen

Bible Scripture Reading for 9 July 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 9 July 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Prayer of the Poor and Needy"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 86:1-13
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 86:6,7 "Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my supplications.  In the days of my trouble I will call upon you, For you will answer me."

Psalm 86 is a lament song written by David in which he expresses grave concerns about his lowly state, as well as joy in the God who alone is merciful.  David pleads his relationship with the Lord and God's character when he prays for holiness and protection.

Verses 1-4 teach us what's important about the person who prays.  He or she is able to come empty, as one who is poor and needy; come committed, as one who is devoted to God; come confidently, as one who trusts in God; come, calling constantly.  When this kind of person lifts up his or her soul to the Lord, God hears.

This psalm has 6 parts: (1) a call for God to deliver David from distress (verses 1-5); (2) a call for God to hear David's prayer (verses 6,7); (3) a statement that there is none other like God (verses 8-10); (4) a petition for God to teach David about himself so that he can praise Him forever (verses 11-13); (5)  a comparison of the assaults of the wicked with the character of the Lord verses 14,15); (6) a renewed call for God to show His goodness to David in his distress (verses 16,17).

Today's Hymn: "Christ Liveth In Me"

Once far from God and dead in sin, no light my heart could see
But in God's Word The light I found, now Christ liveth in me
Christ liveth in me, Christ liveth in me
Oh! what a salvation this, that Christ liveth in me

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that You are there to strengthen us in our time of weakness.  How thankful we are that we have the light of Jesus with us and that He lights our path even on the darkest days of our lives, so that even when we stumble and fall Jesus gently lifts us up brushes us off and keeps us focused on Him and on the Cross.
                                                                                                                                     Amen
