"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today's Blog Title: "A Cry for Salvation"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 53:1-6
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 53:1 "The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good."
Psalm 53 is a repeat of Psalm 14 with only slight differences, particularly in the ending which was rewritten and has become an encouraging affirmation of God's protection.
Like Psalm 14, this psalm decrys the corruption of the human race and yearn for the establishment of God's kingdom. We as human beings measure ourselves up against and deal with grades of good and bad. This psalm reflects God's view that all mankind is depraved. Measured against God rather than one another, "there is no one who does good."
David in this psalm yearns for the time when God will bring his own salvation. That rescue will be from the sin in our own hearts. This psalm has four parts: (1) the announcement of the Judgment of the fool (verse 1); (2) the Lord's examination of the people (verses 2,3); the judgment of the Lord (verses 4,5); (4) a prayer for the salvation of Israel (verse 6).
Today's Hymn: "When We All Get To Heaven"
Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, Sing His mercy and His grace
In the mansions bright and blessed, He'll prepare for us a place
When we all get to heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus, We'll sing and shout the victory!
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit How we as Your children long to see You and see your face and look into you loving and warm eyes, it is out sincere prayer that as we await and watch for your second coming that You will find us out doing Your work of bringing the Good News about the free gift of salvation that You provide. One day we will see Jesus and will indeed shout the victory.
Amen
Today's Biblical Truth: "Read the Scripture with a proper sense of awe, realizing it is God's Word to you and to others"
