"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 9 September 2011"
Today's Blog Title: "A Prayer for Deliverance and Guidance"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 143:1-12
Today's Key Verses:
Psalm 143:6 "I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You like a thirsty land.
Psalm 143:8 "Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift my soul to You."
Psalm 143:10 "Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness."
In Psalm 143, David again is beset by enemies, and again he knows to whom he must turn. After addressing the Lord, he pours out his lament, recalls God's help in former distresses. and offers his petition to God who can correct the matter. The pressing nature of his request is revealed clearly in the 11 supplications directed to God in the final six verses.
God's past faithfulness encourages David to call on the Lord to help protect him against his present enemies. His prayer is a request to God to act quickly, not only to deliver him, but to teach him to do God's will. For God to answer will bring honor to His name and be in character with His great love.
This psalm has 3 parts (1) a presentation of great personal distress (verses 1-4); (2) a longer for former days of delight (verse5,6); (3) prayers for deliverance (verses 7-17).
Today's Hymn: "Grace Greater Than All Our Sins"
Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt
Yonder on Calvary's Mount out poured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilled
Grace, Grace, God's Grace, Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, Grace, God's Grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians be like David and always turn to you when we need help to overcome the storms and trials of this life. May we life our hands and hearts to total praise and thanksgiving to You our Lord and Savior. How thankful we as sinners are for Your Grace that is greater than all our sins.
Amen
Today's Biblical Truth: "When we pray "in Jesus Name", we pray for both in the authority of His Name and in the character it represents."

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness. Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T", God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".
"Finally my brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good conduct, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace be with you." 2 Corinthians 13:11
