Bible Scripture Reading for Saturday 17 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 17 September 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "Praise in God's House"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 150:1-6
Today's Key Verses:
Psalm 150:2 "Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!"
Psalm 150:6 "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!"

As we started this study in the Psalm 1 it contained only six verses and speaks of the man who is blessed.  Psalm 150 the last of the Psalms also contains 6 verses but these speak of the God who is to be praised.  A no fitting conclusion to the Book of Psalm could have been written.

While Psalm 146-149 end with a brief verse of two of doxology (giving Praise), Psalm 150 in its entirety forms the doxology to consummate the fifth book of the praise psalms.  As the final song of praise, it answers four key questions about praise.

(1) Where should God be praised? Verse 1: Everywhere, from His sanctuary on earth to His heavenly creation.
(2) Why should God be praised?Verse 2: For His powerful deeds on behalf of men and for His inherent greatness
(3) How should God be praised? Verses 3-5: With every suitable instrument man can offer with his God-given creativity and artistry
(4) Who should praise God? Verse 6: Everything that breathes

How well this 150th psalm sums up the message of the entire collection.  Each psalm, probing as it does our deepest emotions, is in fact an invitation to know God better and a summons to praise Him.  Though every verse of this last psalm is cast in the form of a call to praise, the psalm is certainly prophetic of a day when every creature will in fact bow in praise to the Almighty God.

Today's Hymn: "Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Heavenly portals loud with Hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever
Crown Him! Crown Him! Prophet, and Priest and King!
Christ is coming! Over the world victorious
Power and glory unto the Lord belong
Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful for the fact that we have these words that we read from Your Holy Word.  How wonderful it is to read about how much You love us and that You provided Your Son Jesus as the sinless sacrifice upon the Cross of Calvary that we if we believe and trust in Your Son we are made clean and we can boldly come before You.  May we always praise You Father, Son and Holy Spirit, forever in joyful song, and live our life's in accordance to Your Will.
                                                                                                                                  Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "By God's breath He created all things, and by our breath we should adore, love and praise Him."

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T", God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.  But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.  We love Him because He first loved us." 1 John 4:18,19
