"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 30 September 2011"
Today's Blog Title: :God Won't Go Back On His Promises"
Today's Scripture Reading: Romans 11:1-36
Today's Key Verse Romans 11:26 "For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable".
Im Romans Chapter 11, Paul continues his defense of the righteousness of God's dealings with Israel. In sovereign grace, God has chosen those who faith, not those who "qualify" by mere physical descent from the patriarchs (Romans 9). Israel's present rejection has come because they sought righteousness by works, not by faith, despite God's constant proclamation of His good news (Romans 9). There is more! Now, as in the past, God had reserved for Himself
Israelites who do believe (verses 11:1-4). Those too have been chosen by grace, not on the basis of their works, and those who rely on works, have been hardened in their self-chosen path (verses 5-10).
It is true that the present mass conversion of Gentiles is a "mystery"--and event not revealed in the Old Testament. But the Gentiles have been , as it were, grafted into an essentially Jewish tree. When God's time comes, He will restore the natural branches (verses 11-24). Paul continues in this Chapter his stunning revelation of God's once hidden plan. When the "full number" of gentiles has been saved, God will keep His promises made through the Old Testament prophets and then :all Israel shall be saved" verses 25-32). Paul concludes with a doxology. How wonderful the complex purposes and plans of our awesome, and Almighty God. (verses 33-36).
Today's Hymn: "Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee"
Jesus, the very thought of Thee, with sweetness fills my breast;
But sweeter far Thy face to see, and in Thy presence rest
No voice can sing, no heart can frame, Nor can the memory find
A sweeter sound than Thy blest name, O Savior of mankind
O hope of every contrite heart, O joy of all the meek,
To those who fall, how kind Thou art! How good to those who seek!
But what to those who find? Ah, this Nor tongue pen can show,
The love of Jesus, what it is, None but but His loved one know
Jesus, our only joy be Thou, As thou our prize will be;
Jesus, be Thou our glory now, And through eternity
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how wonderful is Your Love and Grace to us. How grateful we are that through the Holy Spirits conviction in our hearts, we as Christians have answered His calling and we have experience the life changing transformation of our life's. We have have been saved not by our works but by Your Loving and saving Grace. May we on a daily basis resist the temptations of this world by meditating on God's truth and letting the Holy Spirit guide and shape our thoughts and behaviors.
Amen
Today's Biblical Truth: "Spiritual transformation starts in the mind and heart."
Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness. Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN", God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".
"This is the message which we heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. I John 1:5
