Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 119:145-176
Today's Key Verses:
Psalm 119:147 "I rise before the dawning of the morning, and cry for help; I hope in Your word."
Psalm 119:160 "the entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever."
Psalm 119:162 "I rejoice at Your Word, as one who finds great treasure."
Psalm 119:169,170 "Let me cry before You, oh Lord, give me understanding according to your word.  Let my supplication come before you; deliver me according to Your Word."

Images of God's Word (Part 2)

Psalms 119:105 says that God's word is a, "A lamp unto my feet".  The flickering light cast by the olive lamp of the Biblical Times was only bright enough to show a traveler his or her next step.  Scripture is such a lamp.  It gives us just enough light to see where to place our feet so that we can walk safely into our future.

The believer does not a searchlight that cast light on coming weeks and years.  All that is in God's hands.  We need only enough light to make sure that the next step we take is just and right.

Scripture Gives Trustworthy Light

It contains God's decrees (verses 1-8)
It provides a standard by which we are to live (verses 9-16)
Its words are our counselors (verses 17-24)
It renews our lives (verses 25-32)
It gives us understanding of true values (verses 33-40)
It is true and trustworthy (verses 41-48)
It contains God's promises to us (verses 49-56)
It show how to live close to God (verses 57-64)
It keeps us happy despite the hostility of enemies (verses 65-72)
Its laws are righteous (verses 73-80)
It keeps our hearts blameless (verses 81-88)

Today's Hymn: "How Long Has It Been"

How long has it been, since you knelt by your bed
And prayed to the Lord up in heaven
How long since you knew that he'd answered you
And would keep you the long night through?
How long has it been since you woke with the dawn
And felt that the day's worth the living
Can you call Him your friend?  How long has it been since you knew
That He cared for you?

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit,  how thankful we are Father that you are the Judge over all and that your decisions establish true justice.  May we as Christians when we stumble and fall know that You are there to pick us up, brush us off and keep our feet on the straight and narrow path that leads us to You through the Cross of Calvary.
                                                                                                                                 Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "God has rendered judgments on what is acceptable behavior and what actions will receive His blessing."

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T",  God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." (1 Peter 3:12)

Your Sister in Christ,
Cindi
