Bible Scripture Reading for Friday 5 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 5 August 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "The Path of Blessing"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 112:1-10
Today's Key Verse: 112:1 "Praise the Lord!  Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments."

This psalm lists not only lists the blessings won by those who keep God's commands, but the acts that secure them.

Thia psalm is a wisdom psalm and is very similar to Psalm 111 and is written in the same 10-verse format.  The contrast between the righteous man and the wicked man marks this poem as a wisdom psalm.  Most of the psalm is taken up with the good fortunes of the righteous man with only one verse dedicated to tee observation of the wicked's destruction.

This psalm has three parts: (1) a determination to praise God (verse 1); (2) the praise of God based on His works with His people (verses 2-9); (3) the defeat of the wicked (verse 10).

Today's Hymn: "A Child Of The King"

I was once an outcast, stranger on earth, a sinner by choice, alien by birth
But I've been adopted, my name's written down, An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown
I'm a child of the King, a child of the King
With Jesus my Savior, I'm a child of the King

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how wonderful it is to be a child of the King of kings and Lord of lords.  As we live here upon this earth our temporary home may You fine us going out and and spreading the Good News of the free gift of salvation as we reach out to win others to You.
                                                                                                                               Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Blessed, a term used throughout the Bible means, 'one who is manifestly happy."

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T",  God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".
