Bible Scripture reading for Wednesday 10 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 10 August 2011"

Today's Blog Title: "An Invitation to Praise"
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 117:1,2
Today's Key Verses: Psalm 117:1,2 "Praise the Lord all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!  For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever.  Praise the Lord."

Psalm 117 is the shortest Chapter in Psalm.  It is a descriptive psalm.  This brief psalm calls us to Praise God for His faithfulness.  In verse 2 "merciful kindness" or "loyal love", refers to God's faithfulness to His covenant promises to His people.  The reason the nations are to give praise to god is found in His relationship with Israel.  The concluding Hallelujah is an appropriate shout of triumph in God's mercy.

This psalm has two parts: (1) a call for the nations to praise God (verse 1); (2) an enumeration of reasons for the nations to praise God (verse 2).

Today's Hymn: "I'd Rather Have Jesus"

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold, I'd rather be His than have riches untold
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or land, I'd rather be led by His nail scared hands
Than to be a king of the best domain, or be held in sin's dreads way
I'd rather have Jesus than anything, this world affords today

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we every day of our life's sing songs of praise to You and be thankful for Your Grace Heavenly Father which saves us from our sins.
                                                                                                                                               Amen

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T", God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." (Romans 5:5)
