Today's Blog Title: "The Joy of Going to the House of the Lord" (Day 3 in the Song of the Ascents" or "Pilgrim Songs")
Today's Scripture Reading: Psalm 122:1-9
Today's Key Verse: Psalm 122:1 "I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the Lord."
Psalm 122 is a psalm of Zion and is the third "Song of Ascent". This psalm describes the joy of the pilgrim on arriving at Jerusalem to worship God. This is one of the four "Songs of Ascent" attributed to David.
David in this psalm seeks peace and security for Jerusalem from all harm. This psalm has three parts: (1) a description of the pilgrim's joy in coming to Jerusalem (verses 1,2); (2) a description of the beauty of Jerusalem (verses 3-5); (3) a prayer for the peace of Jerusalem (verses 6-9).
Today's Hymn: "How Great Thou Art" (verse 2)
When through the woods, and forest glades I wander, and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down, from lofty mountains grandeur, and see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze
Then sings my soul, My Savior God to Thee, How great Thou art, How Great Thou art

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that we have the peace that passes all understanding the moment that we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives. As we come into your house to worship you may we always say, "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Our prayers are for our brothers and sisters in Christ in other countries who are going through beatings, imprisonment and even death because of there faith and trust in You. May Your love and protection be with them as they continue to Spread the Good News of Jesus Christ and His FREE GIFT of SALVATION.
