Today's Scripture Reading: "116:1-19
Today's Key Verses: Psalm 116:1,2 "I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live."
Psalm 116:5 "Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; Yes, our God is merciful."
Psalm 116:13 "I will take up the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord."
Psalm 116, a messianic psalm is one of the Passover psalms (Psalms 113-118). This psalm most likely was recited by Jesus on the night of his arrest, the night He celebrated Passover with His disciples.
In this psalm the psalmist announces his intent to praise God and reports his rescue from life threatening situation. In repayment for God's goodness to him, the psalmist vows to praise God for His compassionate concern for the life and death of His saints.
This psalm has seven parts: (1) a declaration of the psalmist love for the Lord (verses 1,2); (2) an experience on the brink of death (verses 3,4); (3) praise for God (verses 5-7); (4) the psalmist's deliverance from death (verses 8-11); (5) a vow of praise to the Lord (verses 12-14); (6) a reflection on the psalmist's deliverance (verses 15-17); (7) payment of his vow of praise to the Lord (verses 18,19).

Have faith when you speak to the master
That's all He asks you for
Prayer is the key to heaven
But faith unlocks the door
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we with excitement and emotion praise and glorify Your Name and let You know how much we love You and how thankful we are to be sons and daughters of the King of kings and Lord of lords. How thankful we are Abba Father that You are a God of love and that you incline Your ear to hear us and that You bend from Your place of glory to meet our needs.
